We have worked with a number of organisations, including Crisis, Scope, Action for Children, Mencap and Teenage Cancer Trust to help develop their storytelling strategies.
Through a process of internal consultations and desk reviews, we build a picture of how internal attitudes and relationships and an organisation’s systems and processes either support or present barriers to storytelling. We then deliver a practical, workable set of recommendations for activities that will help scale up and strengthen story gathering activities.
Once the initial needs analysis and strategy work the client will have an action plan they can implement independently if they wish or we can help with the implementation in an active role or by providing mentoring support to the internal team.
Typical recommendations that come about as a result of a strategic review process will be the need to develop relationships with service teams to help increase the flow of stories from the frontline to communications and fundraising, the need for improved safeguarding and storyteller support processes, improved briefing processes, the implementation of better story management and digital asset management systems and upskilling of internal teams through training and the development of toolkits.
